Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Lauren, the practitioner at Inner Life Aligned. If you’re curious to know more about who I am and what I bring to this work, you’ll find that in the sections below.
-
I’m a certified Emotion Code® practitioner, a PSYCH-K® Preferred Facilitator, and a coach. My work supports people in releasing what weighs them down so they can spend less time reaching for temporary external fixes and more time actively creating and enjoying their lives.
I’m both an intuitive empath and a strategic thinker. This was a tough combination to integrate, especially in my younger years, but the efforts have been well worth it. I have more than two decades of experience working with the Enneagram and other archetypal tools for personal and spiritual development, along with extensive experience facilitating energy and belief work for myself and others.
Before stepping fully into this work, I had a rewarding career in non-profit finance. Eventually it was time to stop straddling two paths and make a choice. I chose to follow my heart.
I believe there are four essential keys to facilitating transformational work: personal integrity, embodied presence, conscious intention, and divine connection. For me, these aren’t just professional standards; they are the foundations of my life.
I work with people who are ready for change, using the most efficient and graceful tools that I’ve found. They happen to be the same tools that changed everything for me, and it’s a joy to share them with others.

My commitment to inner work began as a teenager, when my life nearly went off the rails. I was carrying (and acting out) a storm of unprocessed anger, fear, and grief. An unpleasant wake-up call forced me see that I was standing at a very real fork in the road. I adopted the mantra, 'nothing changes until you do,' and committed to turning my life around. One year later, the turnaround was so complete that I was asked to mentor a younger high school student who was having trouble adjusting. That was just the beginning.
At some point I’ll tell a more detailed version of my story. For now, suffice to say that I’ve experienced my share of inner conflict, anxiety, disconnection, heartbreak, and loss. I’ve also experienced my share of love, joy, connection, contentment, and awe.
My life is now much more rooted in the latter. The change was driven by my intentional responses to life’s challenges over many years, and the determination to heal my own trauma. With an earnest desire, anyone can do the same. Thankfully there are many wonderful paths to get there.

I believe…
Life is a co-creative journey, and we are all connected.
We don’t control the universe and we don’t control other people, but we can choose our focus and commit to the work that is ours to do.
There is no single formula for success and no final state of arrival.
Conscious awareness is an important part of the journey, yet the subconscious mind is exponentially more powerful. It will either thwart or support our best intentions, so subconscious alignment is an essential part of lasting change.
Everything is energy, and the point of power is in the present moment. When we’re bogged down by energetic weight from the past, presence is a real challenge. Conscious manifestation techniques are much more effective after we’ve unburdened ourselves from the past.
The body is innately intelligent and has the capacity to heal itself when we create the conditions that allow it to do so. “Rest and restore” is key, but there is also a vibrational component.
The Enneagram is a tool for cultivating ego transparency in hopes of loosening the grip of the personality. It is not a tool for labeling ourselves and others or doubling down on the identity of the personality. Still, many people choose to use it way. Live and let live.
Astrology is a symbolic language that can beautifully illuminate the psyche and help us make meaning from our experiences. It is not necessarily a predictor of fate, although many will use it that way. For better or worse, the subconscious mind often helps people fulfill their own prophecies.
No life exists without challenges. As children, we have limited choices. As adults, it becomes a question of whether we want to be challenged by our growth edge, or by the consequences of our resistance to change.
Anything can be used as a means of growth, or as a means of distraction. Your intention and your level of presence are the deciding factors.

There were many outstanding writers, teachers, and practitioners who impacted my journey. This list is by no means exhaustive.
Inclusion on this page does not imply that we share the same views; it means they helped me arrive at mine.
Enneagram & Coaching
The Enneagram came into my life as a teenager in the late 90s, thanks to my father. In my mid-20s, I had the privilege of learning directly from Don Riso and Russ Hudson. The trainings were highly experiential and profoundly shaped my path. Many years later, I took additional courses with Beatrice Chestnut and Uranio Paes that were specifically geared toward coaching with the Enneagram. Other significant influences include Roxanne Howe-Murphy, EdD, Sandra Maitri, A.H. Almaas, Ginger Lapid-Bogda, PhD, Laura Whitworth, Henry Kimsey-House, and Marcia Reynolds.
Embodiment & Meditation
I began practicing yoga in 2006 and have explored many traditions. I also worked with a Somatic Experiencing® coach and continue to practice yoga, qigong, and self-acupressure as methods of daily grounding. I’m Reiki attuned, and prior to discovering Emotion Code® and PSYCH-K®, leaned heavily on Emotional Freedom Technique. On the meditation side, I’ve experimented a lot over the years. Heart-Brain coherence, walking meditation, and Hemi-Sync® Resonant Tuning are my longstanding daily practices. Significant influences include Peter A. Levine, PhD, Jonathan Goldman, Eileen Day McKusick, Adriene Mishler, Gregg Braden, Lee Holden, and Michael Reed Gach.
Metaphysics & Spirituality
My parents introduced me to creative visualization at age six. I had a couple of pretty awesome successes in those early years. Since then, teachers like Jane Roberts (Seth), Abraham-Hicks, Bruce H. Lipton, PhD, Joe Dispenza, DC, Joseph Murphy, DD, Robert Monroe, Shakti Gawain, Michael Newton, PhD, Florence Scovel Shinn, Rob Williams, and Caroline Myss have been significant influences. Thanks to all of them for helping me to see the creative power and potential in every human being.
Astrology & Archetypes
I explored many branches of astrology (both in structured courses and self-study) before landing on a perspective that doesn’t fit neatly into any one tradition. I’m also fluent in the languages of tarot and Human Design. Significant influences include Liz Greene, PhD, Demetra George, Rick Levine, Dane Rudhyar, Steven Forrest, Noel Tyl, Kathy Rose, John Joseph, Cassandra Tyndall, Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, Kelly Surtees, Richard Tarnas, PhD, Caroline Casey, Carol Pearson, PhD, Rachel Pollack, and T. Susan Chang.
Psychology & Other
Books written by the following authors significantly influenced my perspective, and therefore, my life: Richard Schwartz, PhD, Karla McLaren, Elaine N. Aron, PhD, Byron Katie, David D. Burns, MD, Harriet Lerner, PhD, Esther Perel, MFT, Daniel Kahneman, PhD, Brené Brown, PhD, Sebastian Junger, Jefferson Fisher, JD, Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD, Ursula K. Le Guin, Richard Adams, Ted Chiang, Julia Cameron, James Nestor, Marie Kondo, Gay Hendricks, PhD, Michael A. Singer, and Dr. Bradley Nelson.
