Emotion Code®

Understanding Emotions

Emotions are energy. They are natural responses to life experience, meant to give us feedback and move through our bodies quickly as “energy in motion.”

Generally speaking, feelings are subjective interpretations of emotion.

It’s important to make this distinction because feelings and emotions don’t always go hand in hand. Many of us have emotions that we don’t allow ourselves to feel. The body experiences these emotions, but the conscious mind pushes them out of awareness.

Oftentimes this happens because we learned somewhere along the way that it wasn’t safe or acceptable to express our emotions. We may have also decided that emotions were simply too uncomfortable or inconvenient to be worthy of attention.

In any event, unprocessed emotions don’t just disappear. Their energy remains trapped in the body, often manifesting as tension, irritability, anxiety, inflammation, or other imbalances.

These imbalances influence how we feel, think, and respond to life. They also influence how life responds to us, since our energy travels with us and directly impacts others. We may be hiding emotions from ourselves in some cases, but we are not hiding them from others.

For example, have you ever found yourself feeling uneasy around someone, even if they seemed to be genuinely kind? Have you ever known that something was wrong with a loved one, even when they insisted they were fine and did their best to demonstrate that? Have you ever been in a great mood, only to find yourself inexplicably feeling “off” after spending time with a person who was deeply anxious? Perhaps you have been on the other end of these experiences as well. In any case, these are all common examples of how our systems perceive emotional energy independently of the logical mind.

What is Emotion Code®?

Emotion Code® is a simple and effective process for releasing trapped emotions, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson. Using muscle testing to communicate with the subconscious mind, trapped emotions are brought to awareness and gently released through the governing meridian of the body. Each release helps restore the body’s natural balance.

Many will be relieved to learn that Emotion Code® does not require emoting. The process works energetically, often without any visible catharsis.

Many people notice meaningful shifts, including:

  • Relief from physical discomfort and tension

  • Reduced emotional reactivity

  • Freedom from unwanted patterns and addictions

  • Improved energy and vitality

  • Increased clarity and confidence

What should I expect in a session?

Sessions begin with a brief conversation about your intention. We then use muscle testing to communicate with the subconscious mind and identify trapped emotions that are ready to be released.

For example, if your intention is to release physical pain, we ask, “Is there a trapped emotion that we can release now that is contributing to this pain?”

If your intention involves moving beyond a creative block, we’ll ask, “Is there a trapped emotion that we can release now that is contributing to this creative block?”

Unlike traditional talk therapy, there’s no need to discuss personal history or analyze root causes. These approaches can be valuable in other contexts, but they are not part of the Emotion Code® process.

Before each release, we ask the subconscious mind whether or not the conscious mind needs any additional information to complete the process. In many cases, the answer is “no.” In other cases, we’ll clarify the approximate age of occurrence or the life event associated with the trapped emotion. This clarification also happens through muscle testing with simple yes/no answers, so in-depth discussion is not required.

Some clients feel changes immediately, while others notice shifts in the days and weeks that follow. Every person is unique, but it’s common to feel lighter as the session progresses and be pleasantly surprised by the changes that unfold in the coming days and weeks.

Emotion Code® for Animals

Animals, like humans, can carry trapped emotions that affect their health and behavior. As deeply empathetic beings, they often absorb emotional energy from their companions. This work can support relief from anxiety, recurring behavioral challenges, physical imbalances, and overall well-being.

Please note that Emotion Code® is not a substitute for proper training. For example, if your dog refuses to heel or fetch a ball, this is more likely due to a lack of training. If your dog is “acting out” due to anxiety or other trauma, Emotion Code® can be very helpful.

A personal note from Lauren…

One of the first Emotion Code® sessions that I ever facilitated was for our beloved family dog. He was truly phobic about going to the groomer. He would violently shake and drool the whole way there, which was terribly sad to witness. Even the vet’s prescription medication had no effect. After one Emotion Code® session (where we released trapped emotions of panic, disgust, lack of control, etc.) he went to the groomer like a trooper without medicine and without symptoms. He still doesn’t love it, but his anxiety level went from a level ten down to a two. He also seemed to enjoy the Emotion Code® process itself. This was one of three pleasantly surprising experiences that prompted me to commit to the certification process.

PSYCH-K®

Understanding Beliefs

Beliefs are subjective attitudes that function much like mental computer programs. Some beliefs support growth and well-being, while others can severely limit us in ways we do not realize. Whether we know it or not, beliefs influence our perceptions, thoughts, emotions, and automatic reactions.

When conscious intention conflicts with subconscious programming, change is often difficult or impossible to sustain. PSYCH-K® offers an effective way to resolve that conflict.

What is PSYCH-K®?

PSYCH-K® is a simple yet powerful set of processes that transform limiting subconscious beliefs into supportive ones. It can also help shift the perception of past, present, or future stress into a state of peace.

Each process, known as a “balance,” facilitates communication between both hemispheres of the brain, creating what is called a Whole-Brain State. From this integrated state, the subconscious mind can more readily accept new beliefs.

Like Emotion Code®, PSYCH-K® does not require uncovering the root cause of an issue, entering altered states of consciousness, or discussing personal history. Both facilitator and participant remain fully awake and aware throughout the process.

PSYCH-K® supports lasting change by:

  • Transforming limiting beliefs

  • Resolving inner conflict

  • Improving clarity, focus, and intuitive ability

  • Reducing stress

  • Creating the alignment needed for goal achievement

What should I expect in a session?

PSYCH-K® sessions are very much like coaching sessions. The facilitator’s role is to hold space, deeply listen, reflect what’s being heard, and guide the process. The participant identifies areas of focus and defines their own meaningful goal statements.

For example, let’s say the participant experiences anxiety when interacting with unfamiliar people and their goal is to get out and meet some new friends. We’d explore the question of “what would I need to believe in order to feel relaxed enough to go out and make new friends?” The answer will be unique to each person, but it may looks something like: “it’s safe for me to be myself” or “the world is a safe place for me,” or “I trust my instincts when meeting new people,” or “I enjoy meeting new people, and people enjoy meeting me” or “it’s easy for me to connect with my breath and relax in any circumstance.” Or all of the above.

Each PSYCH-K® balance includes a permission protocol to ensure that the goal is safe and appropriate to address at that time. If a goal does not align with a person’s authentic potential, or if the timing simply isn’t right, the work will shift in another direction.

At the end of each session, we identify at least one action step that supports bringing the goals of the balances into reality. These steps help translate inner shifts into lived experience. As PSYCH-K® founder Rob Williams always said, “PSYCH-K® creates the potential, and we create the results.”

Coaching

Coaching is a presence-based process that centers around reflective dialogue and supports the discovery of one’s own insights and answers. It is also a space for awakening to the deeper patterns that shape inner and outer life.

The approach is uniquely tailored to each individual, depending on goals and interests. The Enneagram can serve as a powerful tool for understanding the personality that shapes perception and the essence underneath it, but its use is entirely optional.

This work can support clients who wish to:

  • Engage in meaningful inquiry to explore the beliefs that may support or limit growth in different areas of life.

  • Explore sources of inner conflict and work toward resolution.

  • Receive support in shifting perspective or gaining clarity on the heart of a matter.

  • Discover practices that foster balance and well-being.

  • Explore complementary tools, such as the Enneagram and astrology, as pathways to deepen self-understanding and support the creation of a truly fulfilling life.

Consultation Requirement

A brief 15-20 minute consultation is required prior to scheduling a coaching session. This is simply a chance to clarify intentions and ensure that coaching is a good fit. If we agree to move forward, you’ll receive a private booking link to conveniently schedule sessions.
